Jamiu Adetayo Adeniran is a professor and former Ag. Head of Department at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Prof. Adeniran holds B.Tech., MSc., and Ph.D. Chemical Engineering. He was a postdoctoral research fellow with Prof. Jintai Lin’s Atmospheric Chemistry and Modeling Group at the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, China (ACM Homepage), between 2019 and 2021. He is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria – COREN, a Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, and others. He has the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. He has served as a consultant to many local, national, and international corporations on issues relating to the environment, especially air quality monitoring, air emission dispersion modeling, noise, environmental consequences modeling, carbon footprint, climate change impact, and life cycle analysis. Equally, he has been involved in field sampling campaigns for research and professional services across Nigeria.

Prof. Adeniran has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals. His contributions span air dispersion modeling, fire and explosion consequence analysis, methane emission inventory, and life cycle inventory analysis. His work reflects a commitment to addressing critical issues in energy, environment, and sustainability. Prof. Adeniran has published over 100 papers in local and international outlets. He has been privileged to receive many research grants and has attended conferences locally and internationally.

Beyond his research, Prof. Adeniran is deeply committed to education and mentorship. His teaching approach emphasizes bridging the gap between theoretical principles and practical applications, equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their careers. His mentorship extends beyond the classroom, guiding students and early-career professionals in their academic and professional pursuits.
