Chemical Engineering
Dr. Hambali Umar Hambali is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), University of Ilorin. His research interests span a broad range of fields including catalysis, CO₂ capture and utilization, solid waste and water management, advanced materials development, effluent treatment, hydrogen energy, bioenergy, biofuels, reforming processes, and waste-to-wealth technologies. Beyond academia, Dr. Hambali is actively involved in environmental sustainability initiatives, community-based projects, entrepreneurial ventures, and consultancy services. He has been awarded prestigious international fellowships and has mentored numerous scholars who have gone on to secure scholarships at leading global institutions.
Dr. Hambali serves as a reviewer for top-tier publishers such as Elsevier and Springer, and sits on the editorial boards of respected journals, including the Malaysian Journal of Catalysis and the Nigerian Journal of Technological Development. He has authored multiple publications in high-impact journals and has presented his work at various conferences, workshops, and seminars. In recognition of his research excellence, he received the Best Faculty Researcher Award in 2020 during his PhD at the University of Technology, Malaysia. He is a registered member of several professional bodies, including COREN, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE), among others.
